Chœur et chorégraphes provokes an encounter between dance and ensemble singing, always with the intention of casting music and the music of the body into a single mould. To shape this work, choreographers-cum-performers were invited to create solos based on original vocal works by integrating choristers - even an entire choir - and by lending the music of the body a strange new form. Movement and voice are supported and punctuated in sound and space by invented instruments, cello and percussion.

With its carefree mishmash of cultures, sculpted-shadow lighting and clever scenic illusions, the show had (an) unsettling, other-planet mystery... It looked like Earth and they looked like real people, but this was one unearthly place.
