Join a group of around twenty people of all backgrounds, ages, and walks of life to form the first Public en résidence cohort at Danse-Cité!
Public in Residence 26–27 offers a group of participants:
a tailored and stimulating immersion in the heart of an artistic dance season, including performances, workshops and discussions with our artists and partners
the opportunity to take part in surveys.
Public in Residence is based on a principle of reciprocal engagement: participants discover new artistic practices while becoming active contributors who help inform the organization about the relevance of its activities, thereby contributing to transforming the relationship between creation and reception.
The project is based on a simple idea: audiences possess knowledge, experiences and perspectives that are essential. Public in Residence aims to bring together and nurture a cohort that reflects our society by gathering diverse audiences, underrepresented audiences, and people who are more or less familiar with, or distant from, dance practices. We seek to better understand the realities and needs of audience members.
DIFFERENT PROFILES WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Our goal is to bring together a cohort with a rich diversity of backgrounds, ages, experiences and realities. We are particularly looking for:
People aged 18 to 30
Adults aged 65 to 90
People experiencing social isolation
People experiencing financial insecurity or living on a low income
People who have never attended a dance performance
Performing artists or anyone with a practice related to the performing arts
Danse-Cité enthusiasts
SELECTION PROCESS
Applications will be divided among the different profiles we are looking for, and a random draw will be held within each group during the week of September 14, 2026.
