Reporting to the Development and Communications Manager, you will be the operational hub for the programming of performances featuring live audio description and activities that improve access to the arts.

Job type: salaried, 12 hours per week
Location: Montreal / on-site, hybrid working possible
Salary: $27 or $28 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
Start date: 30 August 2026

Danse-Cité, a cultural organisation based in Montreal, is a centre for the creation, production and presentation of dance – a hub of exploration, artistic vitality and conviviality that aims to stimulate artistic practices, cultures and audiences.

Since 2021, Danse-Cité has positioned itself as a pioneer in the practice of live audio description for dance and circus performances in Quebec. Every year, Danse-Cité offers hundreds of blind and partially sighted people regular and equitable access to the arts and culture. By building a rich programme of performances offered with live audio description, Danse-Cité guarantees young people and adults living with visual impairments extraordinary artistic discoveries.

Your role and responsibilities

Reporting to the Development and Communications Manager, you will be the operational hub for programming shows featuring live audio description and activities that improve access to the arts.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Planning and logistics: Contributing to the development of initiatives, implementing the calendar of events and activities, supporting administrative tasks (contracts, budgets and tenders) and ensuring the quality of service provided to all partners.

  • Audience relations: Participating in promotional campaigns and audience development activities.

  • On-site coordination: Acting as the main point of contact on the day, managing unforeseen issues and ensuring the schedule is followed to the minute.

  • Follow-up: Preparing post-event reports and ensuring proper archiving.

Your strengths:

  • Organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently: You have a keen eye for detail and can manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Interpersonal skills, dynamism and a positive attitude: You have strong interpersonal skills and a people-oriented approach.

  • Relevant experience in universal accessibility.

  • Team spirit: You enjoy collaborating and have excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Flexibility: Willingness to work occasionally in the evenings and at weekends (depending on the events calendar). The schedule is to be determined according to project requirements and the availability of the successful candidate.

  • Excellent knowledge of French, both spoken and written. Good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.
