Through the creation of characters and modular, sculptural costumes, this visual tale gives voice to the transformations of a body in motion. Confronting our inner monsters, Satinée invites us on an empowering journey through her shadows and light, marked by lessons that lead to her fulfillment.
At once a playground and a sacred refuge, the performance allows an alternative world to emerge. Filled with explorations of the body, soul, and imagination, the freedom the dancer embraces allows her to rewrite herself by subverting and reclaiming codes, aesthetics, and intellectual constraints. In a first collaboration with Samuel Vignola of Vivid Memory, Jossua Satinée brings her research into dialogue with the space she inhabits.

About the artist
Jossua Satinée first developed her practice in hip-hop dance. In 2014, she graduated from the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal (EDCM). Satinée has collaborated with choreographers including Nico Archambault, Andrew Skeels, Sébastien Provencher, Wynn Holmes and Anne Plamondon, Dana Gingras, Jacque Poulin-Denis, Lauri-Ann Lauzon, Andrea Peña, Marie Chouinard and Parts+Labour. In 2026, she co-created the work Braids & Heritage with Stacey Désilier, presented at the Festival TransAmériques (FTA). Working across the contemporary performing arts and commercial industries, Satinée seeks plurality and diversity in her artistic practice.
