Performance evening curated by Michael Martini featuring artists Mara Dupas, Justin de Luna, and Priscilla Guy.
COSMOS³ is:
⚡ 3 performance evenings
⚡ An invitation extended to artists Mara Dupas, Justin de Luna, and Priscilla Guy
⚡ Resources and dedicated space-time offered to dive into a performative project
⚡ A convivial coming-together
The framework offered to the artists:
⚡ Carte blanche on content and form
⚡ Create from a restricted technical setup
⚡ Conclude with a public performance
"COSMOS represents a momentary constellation, a coming-together of dance artists that we aim to be intergenerational, interdisciplinary, intercultural, inter-everything. I can’t wait to see the artists dive in- carte blanche- to their current obsessions and come out with something to share. Not only do we gather around three new works from three artists, but we gather around food as well, in an effort to appreciate being together while sharing our thoughts on the new works at hand.
This year’s Sophie Corriveau and I collaborated on inviting three artists - Justin de Luna, Mara Dupas, and Priscilla Guy- who will present works ranging from 30 minutes to 10 minutes. In proposing this structure, I’m hoping to destabilize two habits: that of comparing two artists sharing a double-bill and that of treating longer works as inherently more significant.
I trust these artists- their delicatesse, their intelligence, their critical engagement. Sophie and I are excited to see how these artists will take on our challenge.
Join us in April." — Michael Martini
With COSMOS³, Danse-Cité aims to create a new alternative and unifying space for both artistic communities and audiences.
Launched in September 2023, COSMOS is a presentation platform conceived to disrupt the usual rhythm of creation.

Mara Dupas is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice navigates between writing, dance, choreography and movement consultancy in the territory of Tio’tia:ke / Mooniyang (Montreal). Through an intimate, critical and sensory approach, they explore the connections between the body, memory and narrative. Over the past few years, they have created a series of solo performances: Olympia 2.0 and Dépi temps, presented by Tangente Danse and subsequently toured across Quebec, as well as the piece FANM, presented at the Phénoména festival and OFFTA (2023). Their writings, published notably in the journals Zinc and Moebius, extend this exploration of a hybrid language. Their work is rooted in Afro-descendant and queer experiences, drawing inspiration from archives and popular culture. https://www.maradupas.com/

Justin de Luna is a dancer and performance maker based in Tio’tià:ke / Montreal. Interested in giving a question a body, he treats dance as a means to flesh things out and move through thought, using choreography as a frame to house a process of inquiry.
Following his studies in dance at Toronto Metropolitan University, he spent two seasons with Toronto Dance Theatre before relocating to Montreal, where he continues working as a freelance artist. Most recently, he has collaborated with Clara Furey, Raja Feather Kelly, and Malik Nashad Sharpe.

Priscilla Guy is an artist, curator and arts researcher based in Marsoui, Gespe’gewa’gi (Gaspésie). Her stage and film works are presented locally and internationally. Holder of a doctorate in feminist and cinematic studies from the Université de Lille (France), her multidisciplinary works have been presented internationally for over 15 years and explore the links between dance and image technologies through collaborative low-tech approaches. She publishes texts in art magazines (Moebius, Moveo, Dance Current, 24images) and participates in various academic publications as an author or editor (Oxford, Routledge, Udlap) and edits collective feminist anthologies. Founder and artistic director of Mandoline Hybride since 2007 (Regards Hybrides, Salon58, FURIES – contemporary dance festival, L’Hybride – café & bookshop), she currently sits on the boards of Studio 303 and REFRAIN. Priscilla received the Prix Culture from LOJIQ (2012), the Prix Étincelle from the Prix de la danse de Montréal (2022) and the CALQ Award – Artist of the Year in Gaspésie (2024). From 2025 to 2027, she is a fellow of the International Society for the Performing Arts (ISPA).
