Material Stargazer is an intergenerational project bridging community work and experimental art through workshops and a performative exhibition. This project is a collaboration with community centers around the island of Montreal and invites locals, many from underserved populations, into a multidisciplinary artistic process to imagine more creative and just futures. Facilitating the projects are six artists and community organizers between the ages of 22 and 89 years old. 

In conversation with experimental art lineages and interactive community methods, Material Stargazer uses creative media, time-based art practices (performance, sound, voice, etc.) as well as material culture and everyday interests redefined and showcased as art, story and social engagement. 

This is an iterative project, with the first iteration taking place at the Suspicious Fish community center in Verdun in 2024. 

This version of the project engages with the Milton-Parc neighborhood and its multiple communities.
